They love them passionately and wish to bring as much joy to other people's lives as their own dogs have given them. At the November 2001 GSDCA National Specialty in Perry, Georgia, Cappy and Gloria were awarded a great honor by the GSDCA Board of Directors as the first recipients of THE LLOYD BRACKETT AWARD which says on the plaque. "IN APPRECIATION OF YOUR ACHIEVEMENT AND DEDICATION TO IMPROVING THE GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG BY HAVING CREATED A LINE EASILY RECOGNIZED WITHIN THE BREED." Lloyd Brackett was the owner of Long-Worth Kennels established in 1912 and prominent in USA into the sixities. As a breeder he established his own strain and produced more than 90 champions in only 12 years. A world record for any breed. He was affectionately known as "Mr. German Shepherd." Cappy Pottle and Gloria Birch of Covy-Tucker Hill Kennels are very proud and appreciative to have been recognized in this way.
